One of MI2's Newest Members Breaks Ground - Congratulations AKFA Aluminum Solutions

MI2 Member Engagement Manager Jerilyn Bristow attended the AKFA Aluminum Solutions groundbreaking on Thursday, May 7, at 1309 Production Avenue in Bowling Green's Transpark. The event drew speakers including Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman, Bowling Green Chamber Interim President and CEO Meredith Wilson, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel, Bowling Green Mayor Todd Alcott, and U.S. Senator Rand Paul.
AKFA Aluminum Solutions, a division of Uzbekistan's AKFA Group, is the first Uzbekistan-based company to establish a manufacturing operation in the United States. Announced in December 2025 and breaking ground in May 2026, the Bowling Green facility represents an $80 million investment and will create more than 331 jobs in Kentucky. The project is a full-cycle aluminum hub for extrusion and finishing.
Following the remarks, AKFA leadership presented individual gifts to each of the speakers, and Meredith Wilson gifted AKFA a custom drawing of Bowling Green in return. AKFA hosted lunch featuring plov, Uzbekistan's national dish.
The hospitality reflected what was on full display throughout the event: genuine enthusiasm from both AKFA and Bowling Green and Kentucky leadership for the relationship they are building and the growth ahead.
MI2 is excited to have AKFA at one of it's newest members! We look forward to growing this partnership, collaborating across the ecosystem, and moving Kentucky metals industry forward.
