In December, the Metals Innovation Initiative (MI2) team stepped into the spotlight at the Department of Energy’s Community Energy Innovation (CEI) Summit in Chicago, IL.

In 2025, the Metals Innovation Initiative (MI2) continued to strengthen Kentucky’s metals manufacturing ecosystem through expanded membership, deeper public-sector engagement, increased industry visibility, and record growth across its signature programs. As MI2 enters its fourth year, the organization is building on this momentum to advance workforce development, recycling, and energy solutions statewide.
