MI2's participation focused on spreading word of the metals industry broadly as students passed through but on deeply engaging students who stopped and showed interest in the manufacturing sector, and metals in particular. The entire event is focused on early exposure to career pathways as students begin thinking about their high school schedule, emphasizing the critical role it plays in empowering students to make informed decisions about their future career pathways. Recognizing the potential of these formative years in influencing career choices, MI2's involvement in the event was a testament to its dedication to guiding and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.

Furthermore, the presence of MI2 members Logan Aluminum and Ball Corporation and Bowling Green area metals company Crown at the event provided an additional avenue for students to directly engage with industry experts and gain firsthand knowledge about the aspects of the sector. Encouraging students to interact with these companies’ tables as well was a strategic focus for MI2, aimed at telling the story of the metals industry broadly and then helping students understand the role specific companies play in that industry.
