MI2 CEO Quoted in Alliance for American Manufacturing
Mike Buckentin emphasized to lawmakers that Kentucky’s metals industry is experiencing significant momentum, fueled by major investments and continued growth across the state. Pointing to developments like the opening of Nucor Steel’s new steel mill in Brandenburg in 2023, Buckentin highlighted how these projects are bringing jobs and strengthening local communities. He noted that Kentucky is not only thriving in manufacturing overall, but is emerging as a national leader specifically in metals production. Through its ongoing support of innovation, workforce development, and industry collaboration, MI2 continues to champion and accelerate that growth across the Commonwealth.
