On the Horizon

MI2 concludes its first full year in the month of September. Here are a few of the things we are working on this month:

• As this newsletter goes out, MI2 CEO Vijay Kamineni is in Boston at the MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program Impact Summit alongside colleagues from AccelerateKY, presenting cross-stakeholder innovation initiatives like MI2 happening in Kentucky and how they connect to the MIT REAP methodology. 
• Next Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 5-6, is the inaugural MI2 Annual Conference, with a focus this year on "The Factory of the Future," at the Marriott East in Louisville. Registration is still open. Join more than 200 other folks at the event next week!
• The event will include the conclusion of our MI2 Metals Innovation Search, with the finalists in the search presenting their innovations and a panel of judges selecting a winner.
•  Kentucky's Job Quality Academy Team will be meeting on Thursday, Sept. 7, in Elizabethtown to work on next steps with their program. MI2 is a team partner in this U.S. Department of Labor initiative.
• MI2 will be joining the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers for a trip to Washington DC on Sept. 12-13.
• The second Job Quality Academy Summit in Washington DC will be held from Sept. 27-29.
