MI2 welcomes two exceptional leaders to our Board of Directors: Mark Loik, Co-Founder of Southern Coil Solutions, and Clive Grannum, CEO of North American Stainless. Both bring deep industry expertise, strategic vision, and a commitment to innovation that will shape the future of Kentucky’s metals ecosystem and beyond.

Clive Grannum

Clive Grannum joins the MI2 board as the newly appointed CEO of North American Stainless (NAS). With a career spanning global leadership in specialty materials, Clive’s appointment signals a bold new chapter for NAS and a powerful addition to the MI2 board.

Prior to NAS, Clive led Performance Materials at Materion, where he oversaw a global portfolio including specialty alloys, advanced ceramics, and high-performance metal systems. He previously held executive roles at Olin Corporation, Dow Chemical, Rohm and Haas, and ICI Group, gaining deep expertise in chemical engineering, operations, and innovation strategy across sectors.

Clive earned his aerospace engineering degree from Boston University and holds an MBA from Yale University. He currently serves on the Board of AZZ Inc., where he contributes to audit and compensation oversight.

As CEO of NAS, Clive will continue building on the legacy of former NAS CEO and outgoing MI2 Board Member, Crist√≥bal Fuentes, who stepped down as CEO in May after an incredible 44-year career and who continues to work as Senior Advisor with NAS. With a track record of growing global businesses and a passion for strategic integration, Clive is poised to strengthen NAS’s U.S. operations and help drive MI2’s mission to position Kentucky as the nation’s hub for metals innovation.

Mark Loik

Mark Loik brings more than 35 years of experience across the metals industry in Canada and the U.S. His career spans cold-rolled steel, tubing, and large-scale facility development. Most recently, Mark co-founded Southern Coil Solutions (SCS), a Bowling Green-based company focused on fully automated processing and distribution for the metals industry. SCS’s new rail and trucking facilities are helping reimagine logistics and scale in real time and Mark is just getting started.

Before SCS, Mark served as President and CEO of MI2 member company Bilstien Cold Rolled Steel, where he led the development of a $130 million production facility in Bowling Green from the ground up. His career also includes leadership roles with Nova Tube USA, where he spearheaded a $70 million greenfield site, and an earlier chapter in agricultural innovation building out sustainable farming operations on his family’s land in Ontario.

Mark is also deeply invested in Kentucky’s future: he serves as a Presidential Advisor and Board Member for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and actively supports economic development efforts through the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. His work is rooted in building things that last from world-class industrial campuses to resilient communities.

Please join us in welcoming Mark Loik and Clive Grannum to the MI2 Board of Directors. Their experience, insight, and drive will be instrumental as we continue shaping the future of metals.
