KAM Annual Conference

Last month, the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers held their 2023 Manufacturers Summit and Awards Dinner in Bowling Green! Our CEO Venkata Kamineni moderated a panel on "Strengthening Manufacturing Supply Chains – Kentucky’s and America’s” at the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers’ 2023 Manufacturers Summit in Bowling Green. Vijay was joined by Wieland Group Supply Chain Manager Davis Rhodes, Southern Coil Solutions CEO Mark Loik, and i5 Services President & CEO Alan Davis. Thanks to our partners at KAM for putting this focus on the manufacturing supply chain, and to our panelists for taking part in the discussion! And congratulations to Novelis for receiving KAM’s Large Manufacturer of the Year Award.

KAM meeting with White House National Economic Council Director

At KAM’s annual conference, MI2 and several Kentucky metals companies appreciated being part of a KAM-organized group who met with White House National Economic Council Director Dr. Lael Brainard. MI2 had a chance to talk about the importance of domestic post-consumer recycling feedstock for the industry’s reliable supply of metals, talent and workforce challenges for the region, programs supporting the increase in clean energy supply in metals manufacturing, and other key topics of common MI2 focus. KY-MEP Supply Chain Expo

The University of Louisville Manufacturing Extension Program (KY-MEP) Supply Chain Expo took place in November at the WKU Innovation Campus HQ, where MI2’s offices are located. The event encouraged machine shops and metal fabricators to connect with manufacturers looking to fortify their supply chain networks, cut costs, and boost efficiency. We were especially excited that our CEO, Vijay Kamineni, contributed to a panel discussion at the event! Also at the conference, MI2 member company Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products presented as well. Thanks to KY-MEP for including us!

GLI Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Inaugural Program Completion

In November, our CEO Vijay Kamineni graduated from Greater Louisville Inc.’s first class of its Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Network (AML), along with nine other fellows. GLI launched the AML Fellows program earlier this year to connect leaders in the industry and ultimately generate more collaboration within the advanced manufacturing and logistics ecosystem. The graduation featured a keynote address from Condrad Daniels, president of HJI Supply Chain Solutions and incoming chair of GLI’s board of directors, remarks from GLI leadership, and individual recognition of each participant.
